Coaching Champion Institute
Three Big Outcomes
1. Understand Coaching. Leaders will understand the role of an instructional coach — including what coaches should and should not be asked to do — and the success factors that make coaching work.
2. Evaluate It Well. Leaders will be able to assess coaches and coaching programs using standards built specifically for coaching, rather than rubrics designed for teacher evaluation. They will learn how to gather meaningful data from teachers, coaches, and administrators, and how to apply that data to evaluate both individual coaches and the coaching program as a whole.
3. Support It Through Every Conversation. Leaders will be able to navigate high-stakes conversations with coaches and staff with confidence. This includes understanding what makes a conversation challenging, recognizing the triggers that shape how people give and receive feedback, and using a coaching approach that raises awareness, builds capacity, and holds high expectations without damaging the relationship.
